We're live at NPE 2024 Orlando, discussing the best practices for trade show marketing. Starting with pre-show efforts, most companies begin too late. Ideally, start your marketing 5-6 months in advance. Begin with a dedicated landing page optimized for SEO, showcasing your booth details, giveaways, and free Expo passes. Drip your marketing content gradually—posting once a week on social media and building targeted lists using tools like Seamless.AI or ZoomInfo. As the show approaches, increase your frequency and diversify your content.

During the show, stand out from the crowd with unique booth designs and engaging activities. Think beyond the usual colors and layouts—consider bright, eye-catching colors, interactive demos, or live events to attract visitors. Make sure your booth layout facilitates easy interaction and captures attention.

Post-show, the follow-up is crucial. Organize your leads, classify them, and initiate immediate follow-up actions. Utilize LinkedIn, emails, and CRM tools like HubSpot to maintain engagement. You need to ask the right questions to uncover these issues and present a solution that builds trust. Many companies don't realize they have a problem until you bring it to their attention.

I also discuss the effectiveness of newsletters in conjunction with sales sequences. Newsletters are great for top-of-funnel engagement, providing value, and nurturing potential leads. However, forcing newsletters into sales sequences can backfire. It's better to keep newsletters optional and use them to build rapport with those not ready to buy yet.

We just wrapped up an incredible week at the NPE 2024 show! Day one started with a bang as we arrived and prepped for the five-day event. With 50-60,000 attendees, it was a whirlwind of activity. One highlight was reconnecting with old clients from my early days in the business. 

Throughout the week, we had great conversations, especially with key players in the West Hall showcasing their massive machines. By the end of day one, we were already deep into sales work, ready to dive into more the next day.

Day two in the South Hall was all about reconnecting with industry veterans. It’s funny how even in a huge industry, it feels like a small community. We bumped into many familiar faces, some I hadn't seen in over a decade.

The last few days were packed with meetings and laughter, but they were exhausting. We navigated both halls multiple times, ensuring we covered all grounds and made the most of the event. Now, we're heading back, reflecting on a successful and tiring trip. Until next time, NPE!

Industrial manufacturing companies face four major challenges in their marketing strategies. In this video, I’ll share the solutions we implement for our clients to overcome these hurdles.

Firstly, standing out is a significant challenge. To differentiate your business, you must define what sets you apart from the competition without relying on generic claims like "quality service." Identify unique selling points, such as innovative solutions to common industry challenges or exceptional product longevity. Your value proposition should be clear and compelling.

Secondly, speed is crucial. Industrial companies often move slowly in decision-making, especially in marketing. Quick, calculated actions can make a significant difference. If a strategy is proven to work, implement it swiftly rather than delaying it for months.

Thirdly, relying on traditional methods can hinder growth. While trade shows and referrals are valuable, diversifying your approach with digital marketing, social media, and strategic PPC campaigns can yield better results. Modernize your marketing strategy to stay competitive.

Lastly, data collection is essential. Without tracking and analyzing data, you can’t determine what’s working. Collect comprehensive data on all marketing activities and adjust your strategies based on this information. Regular reviews and data-driven decisions will lead to continuous improvement.
