Ideally, you want to connect with as many relevant people as possible within the departments that matter to you, especially those involved in decision-making or influencing. Don’t just target the VP or high-level managers—connect with their teams and anyone who might be involved in cross-departmental discussions. By expanding your network strategically, you increase the chances of your content reaching the right people, even if they’re not always active on LinkedIn.

I also dive into the benefits of sending connection requests with or without a personalized message, highlighting that your profile's headline and overall appearance play a bigger role than you might think. Experiment with different approaches to see what works best for your industry and target audience. Lastly, we touched on keeping employee profiles public and not hiding them due to poaching fears—good relationships and treating employees well will keep them loyal.
